Flights from the UK to the Maldives

With around 115,000 British visitors to the Maldives each year, the UK accounts for around 17 percent of all visitors to the Maldives.  There are several airlines offering direct flights from the UK to the Maldives.

British Airways offers direct flights to the Maldives from London Gatwick (LGW) three times a week.

 

Flights from the UK to the Maldives

 

Monarch Airlines operates flights to the Maldives from London Gatwick (LGW), but flights can only be booked as part of Monarch’s package holidays.

Thomson Airways has a flight to the Maldives from London Gatwick (LGW) once a week and from Manchester (MAN) once a week.  The day of the week varies with the time of year.

Sri Lankan Airlines offers both direct and indirect flights to the Maldives each week from London Heathrow (LHR) to the Maldives (MLE).  The indirect flights go via Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Flights from London to the Maldives last 10 hours and 5 minutes and the return flight from the Maldives to London lasts 11 hours.

There are also several airlines that offer non-direct flights from the UK to the Maldives, connecting in countries such as United Arab Emirates, Malaysia Singapore and Saudi Arabia.  These airlines include Emirates, Sri Lankan Airlines and Qatar Airways
