The Black Pearl Liveaboard is one of the most popular liveaboards in the Maldives. Black Pearl Liveaboard Diving
Liveaboard scuba safaris aboard the Black Pearl Liveaboard vary in duration from 6 to 14 days and two to three dives are held each day including one night dive per week. The dive sites visited vary depending on the season, but you can rest assured that the skilled dive instructors and dive masters will take you to the best dive sites in the Maldives and that you will see some of the most amazing marine life in the world. Typically, divers aboard the Black Pearl Liveaboard report sightings of Whale Sharks, Reef Sharks, Eels, Eagle Rays, Manta Rays and a whole plethora of pelagic and reef fish. It is recommended that divers aboard the Black Pearl have at least their PADI Open Water certification and preferably 30 or more dives, since the currents around the Maldives can be strong.
Black Pearl Liveaboard Facilities
The Black Pearl Liveaboard has seven cabins, all with hot water, en-suite bathrooms, which can comfortably accommodate up to 14 people. On board, there are several areas, both inside and outside, where guests can relax and socialise, including a bar area, sundeck and a seating area on the rear deck. There is a sound system and TV/DVD player in the main living room, so you can kick back and watch a movie after a long day’s scuba diving. The Black Pearl Liveaboard also has all the first aid supplies and emergency medical equipment required in case of an accident or problem. A 60-foot Dhoni boat travels alongside the Black Pearl Liveaboard, from which all the scuba diving is performed. All the dive equipment, including dive tanks, are stored on this boat, meaning that all the space on the Black Pearl is for your comfort, not for storing dive tanks.
Black Pearl Liveaboard Activities
While most of the guests who book a holiday on the Black Pearl Liveaboard are scuba divers, this is not a pre-requisite. If you are not a diver, there are other activities that can be enjoyed from the Black Pearl Liveaboard like snorkelling, swimming, sunbathing, visits to the islands, sunset cruises and shopping trips to Male. These activities can also be enjoyed by scuba divers looking to take a day off from the diving and enjoy other adventures.
Black Pearl Liveaboard Food and Service
Your holiday aboard the Black Pearl Liveaboard is an all-inclusive trip. The price includes three meals a day plus snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. Alcohol is available at the bar and is reasonably priced. Food served on board delivers a combination of international and Asian flavours and takes advantage of the amazing fresh fish available in the Maldives. You may even be eating fish that you have caught while trawling along on your ship. There is nothing like freshly prepared tuna sashimi after a great dive. Dive equipment is not included in the price, but can be reserved in advance. The price does include the two or three dives a day and one night dive each week.
