From north Male’ atoll to South Male’ Atoll
Vaadhoo channel, which separates north and south Male’ take around 45 min to cross this channel.
The first channel on the eastern side of the atoll is called Embudhoo Express named after the strong current and the exciting nonstop drift.
During the north east monsoon this is a must to do dive.
Embudhoo Express
Type of Dive Site: Kandu (Channel)
Location: First Channel South of Embudhoo Finohu
Depth Range: 5m – 30m
Fish Life: Above average
Coral Growth: Above average
Features: Gary Reef, White Tip, Napoleon etc….
Diving Hits and Current: With an in coming strong current would be a drift of a live time. This Channel is 2 km long. The best is to dive when the current flows in to the atoll (North East Monsoon) bringing clear water in to the atoll and big fishes keep on patrolling the edge of the channel, such as Gray Reef, White Tip, Eagle Rays, Jacks, Tuna etc….. With an ideal current should be able to cross the channel from one end to the other, covering the entire entrance of the channel and finishing the dive on Embudhoo Thila in the middle of the channel.
