MV Orion Liveaboard Diving

MV Orion scuba diving safaris last from five to ten days, during which time, 2 or three dives are taken each day, as well as one night dive per week.  The dive sites visited from MV Orion depend a lot on what time of year you visit the Maldives.  Crew members do their best to make sure guests on board MV Orion see the best of the Maldives’ marine life, regardless of the season.  Typical sightings include Whale Sharks, Manta Rays, Moray Eels, Grey Reef Sharks and Eagle Rays, as well as a wide variety of fish, crustaceans, corals and invertebrates.

MV Orion is a luxurious super-cruiser equipped with all the facilities and amenities needed for a great scuba diving holiday.  MV Orion Liveaboard is accompanied by a second smaller boat, called a Dhoni, from where all the dives are taken and all dive equipment is stored.  The boat is equipped with all the latest safety features and navigational tools to ensure the safest diving experience possible.  The MV Orion Liveaboard has nine rooms and two suites, all of which have private, en-suite bathrooms, external windows and comfortable furnishings, decorated tastefully with hints of Asian style and Western comfort.  As far as common areas are concerned, the MV Orion Liveaboard has a library, bar and restaurant area where scuba divers can gather together and relax after a day’s scuba diving.

MV Orion Liveaboard offers a range of exciting activities, not just scuba diving.  While most passengers on board the MV Orion Liveaboard are here for the scuba diving, they often choose to take a day out of the water and spend that day sunbathing, snorkeling, fishing, visiting island communities and shopping in Male, the capital of the Maldives.

MV Orion Liveaboard Food and Service

MV Orion Liveaboard holidays are sold on an all-inclusive basis, which includes transfers from the airport, three meals a day, snacks, tea, coffee and water.  Alcoholic drinks are available at the bar on MV Orion Liveaboard, but are charged additionally.  The package price also includes all dives, but not the dive equipment, which can be rented from the boat operator and you should indicate this at the time of booking.  The food served on board MV Orion usually includes a lot of fresh fish, some of which the guests will have caught from the boat, as well as fresh vegetables all cooked up with international and Maldivian twists.
