Wreck diving in Maldives.
We made our first dive at Banana Reef. Wake up at 06:30 and diving at dive 07:00.
Banana Reef is one of the first dive sites that was discovered in north Male’ atoll, the current was less and the visibility was around 20 to 25 meter.
Because of there were no current, the divers could stay at the up current and observing the fish like at the up current. Napoleon, scorpion fish, huge tuna’s and green turtle was among the highlights of today’s dive.
After the first dive we sailed to south Male’ atoll to Kuda Giri Wreck, an artificial wreck scuttled just for divers, the wreck lies at 30 meters on a sandy bottom up right and few meters away from a tiny pinnacle called Kuda Giri.
Fairly easy dive as the site is inside the atoll and very much protect from current. Usually the dive begins from the Giri and divers swim to the wreck. The wreck is full of sponges and an abundant fish life.
After spending the time on the wreck you could swim to the Giri and continue diving. The giri itself is rich in both fish life and coral growth specially the cave and overhangs.
For the third dive we moved to our final anchorage Guraidhoo and the second dive was made at Guridhoo Kandu or Corner.
The current condition was perfect with incoming and the visibility was clear.
Gray reef and white tips at the entrance of the channel, a very large napoleon, and giant tavellies were among the fish life.
This was great selection of dives to start this week.
