Important Information for diving guests:

  • Please don’t forget to bring your logbook and diving certificate.
  • A medical diving fitness check is recommended, but not compulsory.
  • The first dive is always a so-called check-dive, which is compulsory for all divers.
  • Dives are guided by an experienced instructor and a dive master.
  • Experienced divers can dive independently after the check dive.
  • diving certification courses can be held (please pre-book)
  • Diving equipment is kept on the accompanying dive vessel (Dhoni)
  • Oxygen, medical emergency case and mobile phone are on the Dhoni.
  • All divers must adhere to the Maldivian diving regulations
  • The last dive will be offered 24hrs before the end of the cruise.
  • The use of a diving computer is compulsory.
  • English and German is official language on board.
  • During a 7-night cruise there are 17 dives, during a 14-night cruise there are 35 dives

For security reasons we offer only one dive on the first and last day of the cruise. Even though all dives are guided, once the check-dive is done and our dive guides have made sure that divers are in control of their buoyancy and movements under water, guests can choose whether they want to follow the dive guide or explore the reefs independently – obviously always adhering to diving regulations. Naturally, this rule is of great advantage for underwater photographers and filmmakers. The dive site is explained before each dive in a thorough briefing including a drawing of the reef. The programme includes big fish (mantas, sharks, whale sharks, rays, sword fish and dolphins) as well fully intact inner reefs full of surprises for macro fans (frog fish, sea robins and ghost morays).

Nitrox (EAN32, 36 and 40) for certified Nitrox divers are available (US$ 5 per filling). Nitrox certification courses can be pre-booked.

At the start of each safari, a rough route will be confirmed, followed by daily briefings on what happens next. Before each dive, you will be thoroughly briefed and shown a map of the dive site.
Domestic flight is needed for the „Southern Sharks“ cruises. In case clients have night /early morning departure, the transfer back to Male will be organized in the late afternoon on the day before regular check out.

It is our aim to show you the most beautiful dive spots in the Maldives. In order to do this, it is necessary to adapt our routes to the requirements of seasons, available time and current weather reports. That is why our ships do not follow fixed routes, but tailor each safari route to achieve the best possible trip. Please trust our experienced crews to choose the right route, every ship’s crew has years of experience in making the most of each cruise. At the start of each safari, a rough route will be confirmed, followed by daily briefings on what happens next. Before each dive, you will be thoroughly briefed and shown a map of the dive site.
