What do expect from a liveaboard holiday in the Maldives?

The Maldives is an unfeasibly beautiful country and nothing lets you experience that beauty more than a liveaboard diving holiday. With a super choice of boats, we will take you to the most iconic dive spots, islands and atolls.

The great thing about a liveaboard is that your time is spent on board whilst we sail across the warm clear waters of the Indian Ocean and dive the best dive sites. Sounds incredibly tempting doesn’t it?

Read on for an overview of what a dive safari holiday has to offer:

Arrival – the first day of your safari

You will be collected from Male Airport (meeting point is the exit of arrival hall near the information booth) – each boat has its own check-in and check-out schedule, please make sure what yours are during the booking process).

Some boats offer first dives in the afternoon of your arrival day, some start on the following day. An obligatory check-dive will be your safari’s first dive. It offers the perfect opportunity for all guests to test their equipment and evaluate each participant’s diving skills. Make sure to bring your log book and diving license.

At the start of each safari your route will be announced. They are adapted according to seasonal factors such as currents, wind and weather. You will be in good hands – our diving instructors and captains are experts and have a lot of experience in choosing the right course depending on the individual conditions!

The experienced crew will guide you to the most spectacular diving sites in the Maldives. No other diving destination can compete with the Maldives’ biodiversity and the sheer number of prime dive sites!

Surrounding colourful coral reefs and overgrown shipwrecks you can find innumerable attractions. The Maldives are famous for their rich population of large fish such as whale sharks, manta rays, sharks, napoleon wrasses and other rays. The breathtakingly synchronised maneuvers of massive schools of fish even fascinate the most seasoned divers.

Macro enthusiasts will also love diving in the Maldives: the reefs’ nooks and crannies are home to gobies, blennies, snails and other tiny wonders of the Indian Ocean.

The Maldives consist of thousands upon thousands of reefs you can discover anew over and over again. Each safari is a unique adventure in itself, an adventure that can lead you to remote areas nearly untouched by tourists.

At the end of each day, the liveaboard will anchor in a safe lagoon. Our boats never travel during the night.

On board

The liveaboards offer everything that the divers heart desires and more: relaxing comfort, a lot of space, exciting activities and a great atmosphere.
Our outstanding chefs, well-assorted bars and attentive crew will take care of your well-being aboard while ensuring you’re experiencing your unforgettable dream vacation with us.

All cabins are air-conditioned and offer their own bath (with shower, WC and hot water). Towels and sheets are changed regularly.
Cabins vary in size and style depending on the individual ship. Please see the in-depth ship descriptions for details!

Food and Drinks

Diving makes you hungry! That’s why we set great store by varied and high-quality catering aboard. The menu changes daily and consists of a combination of European and Asian cooking. An exquisite selection of drinks complements the offer.

All ships feature a fully licensed bar with a trained bartender, who will mix exotic and classic alcoholic and non-alcoholic „sundowner“ for you.

On most ships full-board including tea, coffee and chilled water are included in the price.

All our liveaboards offer a selection of activities included in the price: snorkeling, fishing, visiting islands, dinners on the beach and ball games.

Snorkeling: A crew member will take you to the reef with a dinghy and will stay with you throughout your snorkel trip. This way you can enjoy the reef’s diversity and beautiful underwater scenery. Sea turtles, rays, reef sharks and schools of fish are making every snorkel trip an exciting adventure.

Fishing: Catch your own fish Maldives-style! Local fishermen traditionally only use very simple equipment. Still they catch a large amount of Bluefishes, Barracudas, Jackfish, Tuna and groupers. Why not try your luck? If the fish bite, the ship’s cook will prepare a delicious feast with the catch of the day!

Visiting Islands: All our safaris include island visits. No matter how comfortable you are on our liveaboards, you should not miss the opportunity to experience local culture!

Dinner on the beach: Once a week a very special dinner will be served on an uninhabited island. A rich buffet, cool drinks and Maldivian drum music guarantee for an unforgettable night! The dinner on the beach also provides you with ample opportunity for a nighttime dip in the ocean, dancing in the sand and letting yourself be enchanted by the endless star-strewn skies above you. Experience a magical combination of a romantic atmosphere and adventure.

Football/ Volleyball: Most ships bring a volleyball or football guests and crew can bring on islands to carry out spontaneous tournaments! Ball games are very popular in Maldivian culture and the crew will always be up for a match!
